no-hub coupling
Categorized in Plumbing
a mechanical coupling used to connect two pieces of cast iron, steel, clay or plastic pipe. The components of a No-Hub coupling include a cylindrical neoprene gasket, bi-directional shield, and interlocking clamps. The end of each pipe is slipped into each end of the gasket which is surrounded by a shield with a clamp on each end. The No-Hub fittings replace the use of traditional hub and spigot joints used for sanitary drains, storm drains, waste pipe, and vent piping. Also called "Hubless coupling". See also No-Hub Pipe.
