Fernco fitting

Fernco® is a registered trademark of Fernco International, Ltd. A Fernco® Fitting is a mechanical coupling, manufactured by Fernco International, Ltd., used to connect cast iron, steel, and plastic pipe. The components of a shielded coupling include a neoprene gasket, bi-directional shield, and interlocking clamps. Shielded fittings replace the use of traditional hub and spigot joints used for sanitary drains, storm drains, waste pipe, and vent piping.
