CD Exterior (CDX)

a grade of plywood used primarily for sheathing in building construction. A C-grade veneer is used for the face and a D-grade veneer is used for the back. An exterior-type glue is used but CDX plywood will only withstand incidental exposure to weather and therefore is intended for interior use or as an exterior sheathing layer to be covered with a weather resistant finished surface.
