Bibb

A "bibb" is a faucet or valve assembly with its discharging nozzle pointed downward. Bibb faucets are available in many different configurations for different uses. A plain bib would have a spout with an ordinary end. A hose bibb has a male hose thread on the end of the spout. See the illustrations below.
Sometimes a "bibb" is referred to as any connection made to a water supply or tap supplied by a pipe running horizontally.
Both definitions could also be referred to as “bib tap”, “bib” or “bibcock”.
